Organic Wool Bedding
Blessed Earth’s wool toppers, quilts and pillows are the finest in Australia.
The wool comes from the white Suffolk stud of the Kurtz family of Oberon, NSW. It is certified Bio-Dynamic by Demeter; a high micron wool of the finest quality. The Kurtz’s do not practice mulesing.
The wool is scoured (cleaned) using bio-degradable, certified organic detergents. It is then carded in Demeter approved premises; manufactured in our Demeter approved factory; then distributed through our store, which has also been inspected and certified by Demeter.
The outside casings of all three products are made from a 400 thread count, natural certified organic cotton. This high thread count is ideal for wool retention and dust-mite inhibition.
One of the great qualities of wool is it’s ability to wick moisture away from the body at night, then dissipate it by natural evaporation during the day. It keeps our bodies dry – and healthy. Because of this, normal common-sense care should be taken that the room is ventilated.
On the other hand, synthetics and cotton tend to absorb moisture and accumulate it. Under extreme conditions, some surface moisture can appear in the external casing of your wool bedding product. This is moisture that would otherwise have been retained inside a synthetic or cotton product, creating a potentially bacterial condition.
Another great quality is wool’s ability to filter toxic VOC’s from the atmosphere thereby protecting the user from compounds such as Formaldehyde.
